Electric Chainsaw – Part 2 of 5 of my Electric Power Tool Demo articles.
The electric chainsaw was my favorite tool in my sample of power tool demos. While I found all of the tools easy to use, this was the most fun to use.
A wild storm blew in one afternoon. I heard a crack and a bang, and saw a tree down in my backyard. After unsuccessfully reaching out to my network of people for a chainsaw to borrow, I bought one. Two of us had that tree sawed up and out to the curb in about 20 minutes. The chainsaw was super easy, safe, and simple.
Electric Chainsaw Review
Favorite Features:
Quietness – Much quieter than a gas powered chainsaw
Safety – Push start + lock bar
Maneuverability – Very lightweight
Low Maintenance – No oil/gas ratios to stress about
Usability Score: 4.5
(Scale is 1-5, 1 worst, 5 best. Score based on ease of use, frequency of use, functionality, features, and storage space.)
The only reason I did not give it a 5 is because I haven’t had the opportunity to use it as much.
Limitation:
The only issue I ran into with the electric chainsaw was an occasional snag. However, it was a healthy pine tree with strong sticky branches. Point is, I was still able to cut through all sections successfully.
Now I am the chainsaw resource for when my friends or family need one. Plus, it’s much easier and safer to transport because it’s light weight and doesn’t have a gas tank. Conclusion: If you’re in the market for a chainsaw, I highly recommend an electric one. If you’re on the fence about electric power tools, check out my article on the top reasons to make the switch.
