Save energy on Vacation

May 13, 2022 | Author: Megan Holdridge
Summer is right around the corner. Kids are getting out of school, temperatures are rising, and you want to save money where you can. Let your “energy” work for you! Our HVAC systems cause our electricity bills to rise significantly, but there are other appliances that contribute too. Before heading out on vacation follow some of the tips below to maximize your savings.
- Make sure to change that thermostat! The ideal setting for your A/C while away is 80°. Raising your air conditioning by 5° can save 5-10% on your energy usage!
- Set those smart bulbs or timers if you like to rely on the classics! This way it always looks like someone is home while you are gone. You can even ask someone to come check on the house if needed.
- Unplug your appliances. Your TV’s, desktops, oil diffusers etc. Any extra appliances you may leave in throughout the day, make sure they are off and unplugged.
Summer is a great time to look for energy savings. While you are on vacation you can follow the tips above and always check out our website for energy saving contacts. Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, we are always here to help.
